Of Halos and Master Chief
Lately Jordan and I have been playing Halo on Legendary Mode in co-op mode. He’s good, I’m really good…cannon fodder. It works out well when I run out and draw their fire while he picks them off. Still, it’s fun, and helps me relax. Halo is one game I love to play, and most of the guys don’t like it and would rather play Call of Duty. While I do enjoy COD, I’d rather play Halo. One of my favorite reasons for why someone doesn’t like Halo is that it’s too fake. I laugh because last time I checked, we aren’t really shooting guns at each other…we’re controlling avatars that are doing our fighting for us.
Still, I can’t complain. It really doesn’t matter to me what we play – all I care about is spending time with my friends. Last Saturday we had the Barkers and the Troyers over, and it was a real fun time. We made a roast, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. Desert was a Mint Grasshopper Pie that I made (yes, me, I made a pie. You know what, it was good). We talked, we played some games, and we devoured the pie.
Monday our small group started back up after a little hiatus when Adysen came into this world. Man, I missed everyone. We picked up where we left off, and it was awesome. It was missed and sorely needed. I’m glad we’re back on.
Nicole interviewed today for a promotion, and we are currently awaiting their decision. While a part of me wanted to pray that she gets this…when we prayed this morning we prayed that God’s plan take precedence over what we want. IF she gets it or not, we just want to follow the path that God is leading us down. I’m done asking for what I want. I don’t want anything more than what God wants for me, and for us. Is that being selfish?
